Introducing our Leadership and Management Tutor for Higher Psychiatry
Dr Suhana Ahmed
On her appointment Suhana said:
I am passionate about improving the quality of mental health care and my interest in medical education and leadership & management. One of the aspects I have missed most since moving to West London is working with trainees.
I’m delighted to be appointed as the Leadership and Management Tutor for Higher Psychiatry in NW London and am really looking forward to the role. I think we can build some really great training experiences together into the regional programme for our senior resident doctors that will inspire and equip them for their future consultant practice & leadership roles.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Suhana Ahmed as our Leadership and Management Tutor for Higher Psychiatry in NW London.
This is a high profile educational appointment to support the development, delivery and quality assurance of a bespoke programme of Leadership and Management training for our ST resident doctors of all specialties. The Leadership & Management tutor will also deliver an Action Learning Sets (ALS) Programme for resident ST doctors which will support them to undertake management projects with identified supervisors/mentors.
Dr Suhana Ahmed is an Old Age Psychiatrist and the deputy Chief Medical Officer at West London and is the former Director of Medical Education and SuppoRTT Champion at South West London & St Georges NHS Trust. She is the Chair of the RCPsych London Division & a lead for the RCPsych Leadership & Management Fellowship.
Suhana brings not just a wealth of experience and high level connections across the NHS, she is truly passionate about improving the quality of care through her contributions to medical education, supporting leadership & management and the development of our resident doctors on their journeys towards their further roles.
Warm congratulations to Suhana who will be making a start in early February 2025. We are delighted to have you on board and are looking forward welcoming you to the faculty of trainers & resident doctors across NW London in your new and exciting role.
